Home Kidney Disease Test
The Kidney Disease Test is a simple, fast and accurate test that can be used in the privacy of your own home.
The test checks for the early signs of kidney disease by testing a urine sample for the presence of Microalbuminuria.
Microalbuminuria is the presence of raised levels of minute amounts of protein in the urine. Microalbuminuria is the first signs of kidney disease brought about mainly as a result of raised blood glucose (diabetes mellitus) and/or high blood pressure.
Diabetes UK recommends the use of microalbuminuria testing on an annual basis in diabetic patients, as does Heart UK for hypertensive patients.
If left undiagnosed and untreated, microalbuminuria can lead eventually to End Stage Renal Failure (ESRF) which necessitates dialysis or a kidney transplant.
If you use the kidney disease test and get a positive result you should consult your GP, or our online doctor service
