Osteocare 30's The science of good bone structure

The number one calcium supplement in the UK, Osteocare® has been formulated by leading doctors and pharmacists. The well-balanced formula provides a rich source of calcium with co-factors to help maintain strong bones and teeth, as well as the health of the heart, muscles, and nerves. The formula includes the full-recommended daily allowances of calcium and magnesium, which play a vital role in bone development, along with vitamin D and zinc. Vitamin D is necessary for the absorption and utilisation of calcium, and zinc helps in the constant regeneration of bone.

Calcium is important for everyone

Ensuring an adequate intake of calcium is vital for men and women of all ages, as evidence suggests that healthy practices early in life, including the adequate consumption of calcium and trace elements, contribute to greater bone strength and optimal bone mineralisation. Peak bone mass, obtained during childhood and adolescent growth is known to be of major importance in maintaining the strength and integrity of bones later in life.

Both sexes lose bone mass during their lifetime but after the menopause women usually lose bone mass much faster than men.
Postmenopausal women have an increased risk of bone loss for three reasons:
(1) bone mineral content tends to be lower in women than in men;
(2) dietary calcium intake may decrease with age, and
(3) the rate of bone loss accelerates at menopause.

Always read the product directions before use. Do not exceed the recommended intake. As with other food supplements seek professional advice before using if you suffer from food allergies, and consult your doctor or pharmacist if your have an underlying medical condition (e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, hyperthyroidism), or if on medication. This important book explodes the calcium myth. The orthodox medical view is that there is no single cause of osteoporosis - yet great emphasis is put on the need to fortify oneself with calcium by consuming dairy produce in order to prevent or overcome the condition. However, countries with the highest consumption of dairy produce also have the highest bone fracture rate. Professor Jane Plant and Gill Tidey document scientific evidence showing that dairy produce, especially cheese, is actually damaging to those suffering from bone diseases, including osteoporosis, as it acidifies the body so that calcium is actually leached from the bones. They believe that the key to overcoming and preventing osteoporosis is the alkaline/acidity ratio of our diet, and provide lots of easy-to-follow advice and recipes to make it easy for you to alter your diet.

Menopace with Calcium

Menopace with Calcium All the benefits of Menopace®, now with extra support to help maintain healthy, strong bones.
Menopace® with Calcium is specially formulated to provide advanced support for women during the menopause who are looking to help maintain healthy, strong bones too. Menopace® Calcium provides a unique all in one formula of 24 nutrients, combining the original Menopace® multinutrients with 700mg of Calcium and 100mg Soya Isoflavone extract for EXTRA support. It can be taken alongside or independently of HRT.

Menopace® Calcium, High strength calcium, with vitamin D3.
As we age our bone density can decrease due to the natural reduction in our oestrogen levels, so it is especially important to make sure we are getting enough calcium in our diets to help maintain strong and healthy bones into later life.

Menopace® Calcium provides 700mg calcium, plus magnesium, zinc and vitamin D3, which are important to help facilitate bone mineralization and the uptake of calcium. Based on the latest research, Menopace® Calcium provides higher levels of ‘the sunshine vitamin’ D3 which is now known to play an essential role in many other areas of health, including the immune system.

Maintaining healthy hormone balance:
With extra Soy Isoflavones - Soy is one of the richest natural sources of isoflavones, including diadzein, glycetine and genistein. These phyto-nutrients are widely recommended for women during later life. Menopace® Calcium also includes zinc and magnesium, which are used by the body in the production of GLA (gamma linolenic acid) a precursor of the body's own hormone like substances which help regulate changes in hormone balance.

Overall vitality & wellbeing:
Menopace®Calcium provides vitamin B complex, which is involved in the maintenance of the nervous system and has a well established role in maintaining brain function. Nutrients in the diet such as B Vitamins may also help contribute to a normal sense of well-being.

Nutrients for skin collagen:
Oestrogen has a positive effect on the production of collagen, a key substance that forms part of the bone matrix and helps keep skin supple and taught. After the menopause, oestrogen production significantly declines and up to 30% of skin collagen may be lost within five years. Menopace® Calcium includes vitamin C to help the body maintain collagen production, along with copper, zinc and other minerals important to collagen deposition.

Nutrients for heart health:
Lower oestrogen levels may influence heart and cardiovascular health in older women. Menopace® Calcium includes antioxidants like natural mixed carotenoids, selenium and natural source vitamin E, to help prevent the unwanted oxidation of fat and cholesterol. Optimal levels of vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid also help maintain healthy lower levels of a blood amino acid called homocysteine that is independently linked with heart health.

Menopace® Calcium with extra soy isoflavones is the most comprehensive formula available for the menopause to help maintain strong, healthy bones.
